Welcome to AP Macroeconomics! I am excited to meet you (or to see you again) in
September. For now, follow the directions below to complete your summer assignment.
This assignment will count as a 40 point quiz grade and assignments completed late will be
                 graded at 50% credit.
For this assignment, you will be selecting and listening to a podcast and applying some
basic economic concepts. All of your answers should be added to this document and
submitted on Google Classroom by the due date discussed during our first class. (You will
receive your Google Classroom Code on the first day of class.)
                     1. Go to Freakonomics Radio and scroll through the available podcasts. Pick one that
interests you. (There are a total of 639 episodes as of June 2022 - you don’t have to
read the summary of each of these - instead, try to jump around and find a topic that
is cool and seems like something you want to listen to for a while.) Listen to your
                         podcast in full.
                             a. Number of selected podcast:
                             b. Title of selected podcast:
                             c. Date of selected podcast:
                     2. What are 5 important statistics, figures or facts from the podcast? (bullet point
answers are fine for this question)
                             a.
                             b.
                             c.
                             d.
                             e.
                     3. In one full paragraph, please summarize your podcast. (A summary is defined as “a
brief statement or account of the main points of something” - in other words, what did
                         the speakers discuss?)
                             a.
                     4. Include 5 images that illustrate concepts from the show. These can be memes,
                         photos, political cartoons, etc.
                             a.
                             b.
                             c.
                             d.

         5. In paragraph form, what is your big takeaway from the show? (Was there an “ah ha”
moment for you, or something that really moved you? Something you found
upsetting, strange or new? This is more of an analysis of an idea presented in the
          podcast.)
            a.
         6. Give me one “fun fact” related to the podcast episode. It can be loosely or highly tied
to the topic of the show. (You might have to do some outside research for this.)
            a.
         7. What is something I should know about you personally?
            a.
