If you’ve made it this far, you should be very proud of yourself! You have shown us that you are capable, confident and willing to be part of a great group of people. We have lots of policies and procedures here at [YOUR GYM HERE]. Some of them, you may find challenging; some of them, you may wonder at their logic. However, rest assured that ev- ery single idea in this book has been formed through trial and error, and (often) painful experi- ence. There are only a few simple rules of conduct, most of which are common sense; others will help you improve your relationship with clientele, other staff, and the outside world at large. Some, whose purpose may not be obvious at first, will reveal their own benefits as you become more accustomed to the atmosphere of a highly-charged, fast-paced exercise envi- ronment. Lastly, the procedures, practices, policies and benefits described here may be modified or dis- continued from time to time. We will try to inform you of any changes as they occur. This hand- book and the information in it should be treated as confidential. No portion of this handbook should be disclosed to others, except [YOUR GYM HERE] employees and others affiliated with [YOUR GYM HERE] whose knowledge of the information is required in the normal course of business. Who We Are [YOUR GYM HERE] was born in [YOUR INFO HERE]. Before the gym was open, we created the manifesto: a single sheet of paper that defined what [YOUR GYM HERE] was about, what we believed in, and what our goals were. This is what we wrote: [DROP YOUR VALUES HERE - YOUR “WHY”] [YOUR GYM HERE] Mission Statement [YOUR MISSION STATEMENT HERE: A ONE SENTENCE STATEMENT THAT GUIDES THE DIRECTION OF YOUR DECISION MAKING AT ALL TIMES. STAFF SHOULD KNOW THIS BY HEART] [YOUR GYM HERE] Philosophy “Laborare est vincere.” The Latin saying in the middle of our logo means “To work is to conquer.” At [YOUR GYM HERE], we believe that just about anything is possible with a bit of hard work and dedication. If our members have lofty goals, we are confident we can get them there. 3 Contact Information Employees and Email Directory [YOUR INFO HERE] Emergency Phone Numbers [YOUR INFO HERE] Staff Applications Slack: Facebook: you will be added to our private staff Facebook group upon hiring.
